"Time spent amongst trees is never wasted time". What a truthful quote, right? For some people, enjoying green open space is a privilege, especially for people who live in the middle of a bustling city. Conveniently located in the prestigious neighborhood of Menteng, the Suropati and the Diponegoro Statue Park is an oasis of calm in the heart of Jakarta. As you arrived at the location, you will directly spot their carefully maintained plants and the iconic equestrian statue. Both of the parks are standing next to each other.

THE DIPONEGORO STATUE PARK
The Diponegoro Statue Park is a thematic small park surrounded by colorful plants and a small walking track. At the center of the park stands the iconic bronze equestrian statue of the Javanese Prince Diponegoro boldly riding a horse. It also has a tiny blue pond just right under the statue. The park is sort of a place to just stop by, if you want to experience more activities, just cross the street and reach Suropati Park.

THE SUROPATI PARK
Compared to the Diponegoro Statue Park that focuses on the statue and colorful variety of plants, Suropati Park’s charm comes from its straightforward functionality and the eclectic mix of characters it attracts. The practical appeal of the park makes people always feel welcome here. They usually come for a walk, jogging, cycling, or just to get together with friends. As you enter the park, you will be exposed to its well-maintained plants and grass lawns. You will also be welcomed by the city birds warbling in the trees. At the center of the park is a fountain that reflects beautiful emerald green water on a sunny day. The park comes more lively because of the presence of various communities. Arts and sports are two main areas of groups that use the park as a frequent gathering place.
