Former Jaya Gas Building
This building is located at Jalan Senen Raya, Central Jakarta. It has mixed Chinese and European architectural design, built in around 19th century. In the past it was the residence of a Chinese Captain called Wang Seng. During the revolution this building was entertainment centre, especially to serve the need of the military Dutchmen (KNIL/KL). Later it became an office of Jaya Gas Company, and became Pizza Hut outlet.
The historical aspect of this building is that it describes the structure of society in ancient Batavia, which the racial groupings were found. In the past its surroundings were Chinese settlement, lead by Captain Wang Seng. The architectural design shows a harmonious mixture of modern architectural building with old architectural design.
