If we want to see what Indian Hindu houses of worship are like, we can come to the Shiva Mandir Temple. Shiva Mandir Temple is the largest Indian Hindu temple in Jakarta which was founded in the early 2000s. The people of Shiva Mandhir temple are dominated by Jakartans of Indian descent, and many come from expatriates of Indian descent.

Among several Hindu temples in Jakarta, the Shiva Mandir Temple has the largest building and has the most complete statues of gods, so that many Indian Hindus flock to this temple, especially if there is a big celebration. The architecture of the Sri Siva Temple in Pluit was built in a modern Indian style. The main shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva Shankar. This temple features statues of various Hindu gods and goddesses. The separate sannidhi of Lord Kartikeya, Lord Rama, Shridi Sai Baba, Goddess Lakshmi, Tirupai Balaji, Lord Ganesh, Hanuman, Goddess Durga Maa, Sri Krishna, Buddha, and Ayyappa can be seen inside the temple.

One of the religious ceremonies found in Shiva Mandhir shrines is the "Navagram" ceremony. Navagram means "Nine Planets" (from the words Nava / Nawa = nine and Gram = Planet), which aims to purify oneself and also pray for the harmony and safety of the universe which consists of nine planets. The Navagram ceremony is led by a chief priest who uses elements (water, fire, earth, air) in processions and chants mantras in Sanskrit, and around him are other priests who guard the nine masks made of alumnium as symbols of the nine planets. Then the congregation who attended joined the prayer led by the pastor.
