Did you know that you can trace history through a visit to the grave. One of them is by visiting the Menteng Pulo Cemetery, located in Tebet, South Jakarta. Visiting this cemetery is quite memorable, because the grave is beautiful, neat and well maintained.
 
Menteng Pulo Cemetery or also known as Ereveld Menteng Pulo was founded in 1946 which is a historic Dutch honor grave. However, it was not only the Dutch who were buried there. There are also graves of Indonesians in that place and the majority are soldiers. From 25 thousand victims, among them were civilians and soldiers.
 
When visiting this place, you don't need to worry because there is a guide who can provide complete information regarding the history of the grave. Time to visit the place is 7 am to 5 pm.
 
The unique thing that you can find here is that you will be guided directly by a Dutch guide. Another uniqueness here is the shape of the grave where each grave has its own characteristics. A cross-shaped grave for the Dutch, a wooden  with grave a triangular projection for Muslims, a round grave for Buddhists and a hexagonal star for Jews.
