Currency & Credit Cards
Indonesian currency is in Rupiah. Foreign currency can easily be exchanged at banks, hotels and money changers in major tourist destinations; the US dollar is the most accepted currency. Exchange rates are more favourable at local banks, and better still at special money-changing offices. Visa and Mastercard are accepted at more expensive hotels and restaurants, however smaller businesses store may not have card facilities (especially in more remote areas). ATMs are available in main centres.
