Jakarta (Antara) - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held the Betawi Culture Festival at the Betawi Cultural Village (PBB) in Setu Babakan, Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta, on Saturday (6/22) and Sunday (6/23).
The festival was held by the Jakarta City Government Tourism and Culture Office in order to enliven the 492th anniversary of DKI Jakarta Province.
In the festival, there will be Betawi rhyme performances and Betawi rhyme competitions between Senior High Schools throughout the DKI Jakarta Province.
"In that performance, people can see what the forms of the Betawi pantun are like," said staff of the Betawi Village Settlement Regional Service Unit (UPK) in Jakarta, Roni.
In addition to pantun, according to Roni, there was also a Betawi culinary exhibition in the past that was activated by PKK mothers throughout the DKI Jakarta province who were also held together with the pantun competition.
"The culinary exhibition will be opened directly by the head of the Jakarta Provincial PKK Driving Team, Mrs. Fery Farhati Ganis, wife of Anies Baswedan," Roni said.
According to Roni, the culinary show is a typical Betawi cuisine that rarely looks like vegetable besan, nubur jali and cork pucung.
Roni said that people are not just looking at exhibitions, but also can "taste". according to him, there will also be training on how to make these special foods.
In addition to the two main agendas above, Roni also has other art performances such as the Topen Dance stage, the Gambang Kromong musical stage and the Betawi Comedy stage which is a regular agenda every weekend starting today.
Especially for the Betawi comedy stage, according to him is very unique because it will only take place twice a month on Saturday, June 22 and June 29.
Roni said, for information about activities, the public can see directly through the @ukpbb instagram.
Roni hopes that with these activities, the community can come in droves to the Betawi Cultural Village to recognize and preserve Betawi culture in their daily lives.
