Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta will once again be abuzz with festivities as it welcomes the Year of the Horse. From delectable dining options for the entire family to enjoy and a prosperous ceremony conducted by feng shui master, Joseph Chau from Hong Kong to a magnificent Chinese New Year entertainments, all prepared for another incredible celebration. To start off the festivities, Xin Hwarestaurant presents delectable dining options as Executive Chinese Chef Jeff Lee and his culinary team combine traditional and innovative ingredients to create three signature family set menus that will be offered from 15 January to 16 February 2014.

The menu features Xin Hwa’s signature Yu Sheng, also known as the “Prosperity Toss” – a mix of fresh salmon with shredded vegetables, crispy fish skin and Chef Lee’s special home-made XO sauce and condiments. The well-known tradition of Yu Sheng toss with chopstick represents an increase in abundance, prosperity and vigour. The higher the toss, the merrier the year ahead will be.

Other celebratory dishes on the menu include double-boiled fish maw and conpoy in golden supreme broth, Wok-fried beef rib eye – Greater Omaha US, premium grain feed with pepper in Chef’s concoction and more. The set menu served daily is priced from IDR688,000++ per person to IDR1,388,000++ per person.

The celebration at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta continues with a performance of the popular dragon dance and lion dance what will take centre stage in the lobby on Chinese New Year’s Eve (30th January 2014) and Day (31st January 2014). The glorious lion dance will snake through the restaurant, delighting all the guests as they enjoy their meal.
