Seribu Islands Regency Administration urges residents to participate in preserving the marine ecosystem. Without an active role of citizens, it will not run optimally.
"Marine ecosystem preservation is a shared responsibility," said Sutrisno, Head of Seribu Islands Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-dept, Tuesday (8/30).
According to Sutrisno, it aims to protect and maintain the natural resources (SDA) in the water of Seribu Islands. Thus it could be used by residents continuously without having to destroy all of its potential.
He went on the say that most residents do not know if the presence of marine ecosystems such as coral reefs are needed as a source of food fish in the sea.
"The coral reefs that exist today is capital that can be used as an underwater tour of Seribu Islands as a tourist destination of the world," he stated.
