JAKARTA - Jakarta City Government Tourism and Culture Office is designing an effective and efficient promotion strategy for the capital's tourism destinations. One of them is by working with the private sector as tourism business actors.
"This effort can be done through the Jakarta Tourism Industry Forum Business," said Jakarta Disparbud Head Edy Junaedi, in Jakarta on Wednesday (26/6), as quoted by Beritajakarta.id.
For information, the Jakarta Tourism Industry Forum Business is a direct business-oriented promotional activity between the Jakarta tourism industry and local travel agents, which are carried out alternately in Pekanbaru, Palembang, Banjarmasin, Solo and Bali.
The Business Implementation of the Jakarta Tourism Industry Forum on 26-28 June 2019 took place in Palembang. Previously, the holding of the activity took place in Pekanbaru on June 24-25.
Edy explained, the implementation of the activity will also be held in Jakarta by inviting potential travel bureaus from 27 cities throughout Indonesia. The target is to increase partnerships and create business contracts carried out in the form of Table Top or Business to Business (B2B).
"The Jakarta Tourism Industry Forum business will involve tour operators from potential cities throughout Indonesia," he added.
Edy added, there are 83 tourism industries in Jakarta which consist of businesses in the hotel sector, airlines, tourist objects, tourist transportation, and travel agents who are participants of the activities which will be held in June and July 2019.
"Business Participants in the Jakarta Tourism Industry Forum can take part in the activities for free" he explained.
Edy assessed that the promotion synergy between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) and the private sector continues to achieve the common goal of advancing the tourism sector as one of the drivers of the city's economy.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of DKI Jakarta PHRI BPD Krishnadi welcomed the efforts of DKI Jakarta Disparbud in encouraging the tourism industry by conducting integrated promotions such as the Business Forum in the midst of the current online travel agent (OTA).
