Suara.com - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan confirmed that during the Islamic fasting month and this year there will be no community organizations that conduct raids or sweeping without permission.
Anies dares to guarantee that there are no organizations that act like that because they reflect on last year's experience.
"Didn't there last year? Nothing, God willing, there was none this year," Anies said at City Hall.
Previously, the DKI Provincial Government through the Jakarta City Government Tourism and Culture Office had issued a circular number 162 / SE / 2019 regarding the time of the tourism industry during Ramadan.
The letter instructs all discotheque businesses, steam baths, massage houses, arenas of manual, mechanical or electronic dexterity for adults, must be closed one day before Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr and one day after.
Meanwhile, Minister of Religion Lukman Hakim Saifuddin also called on mass organizations to refrain from conducting raids without assistance from law enforcement officials and tending to vigilante themselves during the holy month of Ramadan 1440 Hijriah.
"In my opinion, whether it is related to sweeping or not, it's good for all of us to be able to hold ourselves back. Ramadan is the month where we are given the opportunity to train ourselves and control our passions," Lukman said at the Ministry of Religion, Central Jakarta , Sunday (5/5/2019).
The Minister of Religion advised mass organizations and the community to coordinate with security parties, if they found elements that were considered tarnishing the sanctity of the month of Ramadan.
