Kastara.ID, Jakarta - Member of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives Commission B, Syarifuddin and Achmad Nawawi, supports the plan of Jakarta City Goverment Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud) which will complement facilities and infrastructure in Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.
According to Syarifuddin, the addition of facilities and infrastructure is important to do in an effort to preserve Betawi culture while making the Setu Babakan area a cultural tourist destination in the capital.
"Setu Babakan's arrangement as a cultural tourist destination must be taken seriously from all sectors, starting from all Betawi ornaments and culinary must be available," he said, Wednesday (2/27).
With a budget allocation of Rp. 26 billion, continued Syarifuddin, The Jakarta City Goverment Tourism and Culture Office can make infrastructure improvements in the Setu Babakan area as a miniature Betawi Culture
The same thing was expressed by Achmad Nawawi. In addition to arranging the Setu Babakan area, Jakarta City Goverment Tourism and Culture Office can also collaborate with other relevant Regional Work Units to empower the surrounding community.
"The community can be empowered to make typical Betawi souvenirs that can be sold later to visiting tourists. This is important so that the Betawi culture is not lost, while at the same time increasing the economy of the citizens, "he said. (hop)
