Jakarta Provincial Government planted mangrove trees at Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Angke Kapuk, Penjaringan. The event which is cooperated with one of private universities is held to commemorate national trees planting day.
Jakarta Head Dept. of Maritime, Agriculture and Food Tenacity, Darjamuni, said 5,000 out of 50,000 will be planted at the area. Total of the area is 446 hectares.
“Mostly the mangroves condition here have broken,” he said, Sunday (11/20).
He hoped mangrove areas can be the priority since planting on dry land is already accelerated well.
In previous year, the same university had planted 50,000 trees at the location. But the trees have already dead because of weather condition.
