Scheduled to take place on 23rd October 2016, the Jakarta Marathon will again turn the streets of Indonesia’s capital city, Jakarta, into a colossal race track for thousands of runners from all across the globe. This year, registration fees are set based on the single currency of US$ following the regulation issued by Bank Indonesia. Therefore, for the full marathon category, the fee is set at US$70,  equivalent to  IDR900, 000. In an effort to attract even more runners to participate in the event, the organizers have offered a number of attractive promo programs including the Valentine  launched on 12th February 2016. More exciting promo programs from the organizers and sponsors will surely follow which are projected to be even better than all previous editions.

As in previous years, this mega sports-tourism event is jointly presented by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia and the Jakarta Provincial Government in cooperation with promoters INSPIRO. Entering its 4th edition this year,  the Jakarta Marathon continuously improves its quality in an attempt to place Jakarta among  world’s major marathon cities that  include Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin,  Chicago, and New York.

Since its inaugural edition in 2013, the enthusiasm and participation for the event has continued to increase by the year.  In 2014, some 50 countries were recorded to have taken part in the Jakarta Marathon with total number of participants reaching 14,120. There were more than 1,200 international runners from many countries that included Kenya, Ethiopia, Japan, USA, UK and Australia.
