Hundreds of national fashion brands steeped in local content and produced with international standard quality displayed at the Indonesia Fashion Week 2014.  Representing the collective creative wealth of Indonesia, the Indonesia Fashion Week took place from 20th to 23rd February 2014 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta.

 Indonesia Fashion Week 2014 will highlight the Green Movement as the new wave in the local fashion scene. Eco-friendly fashion products, also recognized as sustainable fashion or eco-fashion are those that are produced considering their impact on the natural and social environments. Among considerations are the use of eco-friendly substances, long lasting products, the reduction of carbon traces, as well as the welfare of fashion workers.

Putting together runway fashion shows, trade shows, seminars and a fashion design competition, the Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) has become a heavyweight landmark event that grows extensively each year. This year, the event boasts over 512 brands of various fashion  products including women’s wear (Muslim, Casual, Cocktail & Party, and others), men’s wear, kid’s wear, accessories, and more.

The event will feature some of the most renowned names in Indonesia’s  Fashion scene:  Priscilla Saputro who stunned the audience in last year’s IFW with her Javanese hand-drawn batik prints, is back again this year with her latest creations. Widely considered to be one of Indonesia’s top couture designer and kebaya pioneer, Anne Avantie will also showcase her masterpieces.  From the genre of muslim wear, Dian Pelangi has managed to hold on to cultural roots, making it so adored by modern Muslim women. Hannie Hananto, on the other hand, puts a modern spin on traditional Muslim fashion, imbuing it with a quirky beatnik vibe that’s full of fun and inspiration.

Indonesia Fashion Week 2014 also bring four international designers from Argentina, Morocco, Japan, and the Kofia Fashion School of Italy. These international representatives are chosen by the World Fashion Week. On a special note, the Kofia Fashion School of Italy will showcase fashion designs based on Indonesian traditional masterpieces in Batik.
