Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama, conveyed several achievements made by Jakarta Provincial Government on Jakarta's 489th anniversary. Some classic problems such as congestion and flooding, has begun to be addressed.
To overcome the congestion, Basuki trying to develop Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and rail-based mass transit, such as Mass Rapid trasit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT). He said, the easiest and fastest in the transport sector is the development of BRT.
He recorded, there have been 12 main corridors of Transjakarta bus. Transjakarta itself does not focus on the corridor, but to develop routes among corridors. There are currently 20 additional routes, including the mix traffic lanes.
"We also reach out to residents outside of Jakarta. It was one of our steps to reduce the vehicles coming to the capital," he diclosed, during plenary session to commemorate the city's anniversary, at City Council (DPRD) building, Wednesday (6/22).
Besides developing BRT, his party also focuses on construction of MRT and LRT in parallel. Then, the construction of MRT phase I (Lebak Bulus-HI Roundabout), the overpass project has reached 32.09 percent. As for the underground, has reached 65.2 percent.
While in overcoming floods, Basuki trying to add more flats to relocate residents living in the riverbank. There have b]een at least 24 blocks of flats, with a capacity of 2,478 units.
"We're still continuing to build the flat. Thus far, 22 thousand units are still being constructed now," he expressed.
He added, to realize Jakarta as a child-friendly city, the Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) continues to be developed. Some of them are built using corporate social responsibility (CSR). Phase 1 is already built, with 16 RPTRAs, Phase 2 with 57 locations, and phase 3 with 150 locations.
In Food sector, he seeks to strengthen Jakarta three enterprises engaged in food, namely PD Dharma Jaya, PT Food Station Tjipinang and PD Pasar Jaya. Based on data of Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the inflation rate in 2015 was 3.30 percent, and inflation rate by year-on-year in May 2016 recorded 0.24 percent.
